The idea of women having to hide when their on their period is so strange to me. I hear about girls pretending to fast and pray so their dad/ brothers wont know they’re on the period and I just cant wrap my head around it. The prophet (s.a.aw) clearly stated it is a thing that Allah has ordained for all the daughters of Adam…so then why are girls expected to pretend it does not happen to them?
Islamically, Ibadah is to obey Allah by doing whatever he has commanded and by avoiding all that he has forbidden. We all know It is haraam for a menstruating woman to fast/ pray so by being obedient to Allah & refraining from these acts she is performing an act of worship and will receive blessings by doing so. If you want to talk about haya then lets remember that It has never been immodest to obey Allah. Menstruation is not something Allah gave us as a means of humiliation or embarrassment..It is not something shameful that women must conceal to appease men. I’m not saying you need to going out announcing it to the world, but you don’t need to go out of your way pretending like it does not exist. It is not Allah that shames women for what naturally occurs, it is men.
If Allah has made it halal for me to not fast or pray when I am on my period then who has the authority to tell me otherwise?
